A 56-year-old man, Tshepo Ntsimane, is expected to return to the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 14 April 2026 for a formal bail application after being charged with the rape of his 13-year-old niece in Dobsonville earlier this month.
According to reports, the incident occurred between 20:00 on 03 April 2026 and 02:00 on 04 April 2026 at a local residence where the victim, accompanied by her aunt and a 10-year-old friend, had gone to cook due to a power outage at their home. Ntsimane allegedly arrived intoxicated and gave the victim a drink that caused her to feel dizzy. She was then allegedly taken to a vehicle parked outside the yard, where the assault took place.
The victim later regained consciousness inside the suspect’s office, where she was discovered in a distressed state by witnesses. A medical examination confirmed injuries consistent with sexual assault. Investigators collected forensic evidence, including the victim’s clothing recovered from a vehicle, vomit containing a red substance, and wine stains on the office floor.
Authorities have also seized CCTV footage from the premises for analysis. An adult witness reportedly recorded video evidence of the victim inside the office, which now forms part of the investigation.
Police have emphasized that the matter is being handled with urgency, and investigations are ongoing.
